High Planes CAC 'Avon' Sabre RAAF 2 OCU Conversion 1:72
The CAC Sabre was an Australian produced version of the North American F86 Sabre. It was reengineered to accept the Rolls Royce Avon engine which required substantial changes to the fuselage. It served with the RAAF until replaced by the Mirage IIIO. A number of the retired aircraft were passed to the Royal Malaysian Air Force and Indonesian Air Force (AURI).
This kit provides the fuselage and requires a spearately purchased Academy F-86F-30 kit for donor parts. This version offers a choice of 6 different training aircraft with bright tail flashes to choose from.
The decals for this conversion are a combination of digital prints (squadron markings, serials and fin flashes) and silk screen (national markings and stencils). The digital print decals are finished with a continuous film and must be individually cut and applied with care.
