The CAC Sabre was an Australian produced version of the North American F86 Sabre. It was reengineered to accept the Rolls Royce Avon engine which required substantial changes to the fuselage. It served with the RAAF until replaced by the Mirage IIIO (available as High Planes Kit 072016). A number of the retired aircraft were passed to the Royal Malaysian Air Force and Indonesian Air Force (AURI).
This kit provides the fuselage and cockpit details. It requires a Hobbycraft, Fujimi or Academy F-86F-30 kit for donor parts. This version offers a choice of 6 different training aircraft with bright tail flashes to choose from.
The High Planes Models kit includes limited run injection moulded plastic, resin and white metal parts, vacuum formed canopies by Falcon and six decal options.
