The English Electric Canberra was the RAF's first jet bomber and proved to be highly adaptable despite being a first generation jet design. The final Canberra variant's were retired from the RAF 55 years after first entering service. The Canberra B(I) Mk 8 variant was developed as a interdictor and features the characteristic teardrop canopy. It served in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Far East and variants were exported to India and Peru.
