This High Planes Models assembly kit represents the famous Rare Bear Reno racing plane.

In 1968 Lyle Shelton bought this F8F2 Bearcat as a desert wreck. He quickly restored it and installed a Wright R-3350 producing 4000 hp. and entered it at Reno 1969. He placed fifth in the final, and Rare Bear has been a regular competitor ever since. Our kit 048008 presents Rare Bear as she was in the 1995 racing season.
