The Yak 9P and 9U were late developments of the Soviet Yak 9 family, featuring upgraded armament, 650 hp Klimov VK-107A engines and detail changes.  The 9U entered service in 1944 and saw action in WW2, while the 9P was extensively supplied to Soviet allies & satellite countries and flew during the Korean war.  Decals are included for Yak 9P captured from the North Koreans by UN forces, a Hungarian machine, and aircraft in green camouflage from both Russia and Poland.

The High Planes Models kit includes limited run injection moulded plastic and white metal parts and four decal options.
